SPR formally notified of Sarawak assembly dissolution

UKAS reported that Speaker Asfia notified SPR by letter on October 27, 2026, that the Sarawak assembly had been dissolved the previous day. Asfia said the election would use the existing 82 seats. The 17 additional seats approved last year cannot be used because the necessary procedures remain incomplete. The next step to watch is the election timetable.
